Weekly reflections

I felt good this week and racked up a good overall mileage. It was the May Day holiday weekend and I did get some back-to-back days in over the weekend. There was a 20 miler in the middle but it was bracketed with some 20k efforts either side. Importantly, they were all largely on the hills and involved ground that is similar to that found on CWU.

The numbers always feel terrifyingly inadequate when compared to the mileage one has to cover in the CWU. It can be a struggle not to let that be overwhelming but the rational part of my brain is trying to fight back. If I try to train at 200k a week I will be broken, probably most people would, and there is no doubt that the week of training I did is a decent training load.

Don’t panic! 😬

A rare splash of colour in the hills. One the sheep won’t eat…

The inevitable selfie with Bowderdale behind me. I recently criticised the arch-twat Harrison from MAFS Australia for wearing a cap backwards. So this one proves I am a stone-cold hypocrite. (He was indoors though… )
