Weekly reflections

The most important thing to record here is that this was my first ever 100km week. Which feels like an important point for me to reach. I didn’t run that much in the week I did Lakes in a Day. It had been an aim, many months ago, to get in some 100km weeks in the final push for the Cape Wrath training. I wasn’t sure it was do-able so I’m pleased to get there.

Quite a decent pace as well and I think that was partly as my longer runs had a wee bit more road and hard trails than usual. Not a huge amount but enough to lift my average pace generally.

Still, as usual, more elevation gain per kilometre than the Cape Wrath Ultra but that’s normal for me. It’s just all a bit hilly around here and I struggle to find flatter runs without doing more road.

There is a separate post on my long run to Green Bell etc this week.

My Strava ‘Fitness’ score at the end of the week.

I’ve also included a screenshot of my Strava ‘Fitness’ score. I have used this score a fair bit to help me gauge my training. I’ll spend more time scribbling about it later but I’ve found it helpful. This week’s peak is my highest ever.
